Graduate

AHETEMS provides several scholarship, internship, research and educational support opportunities throughout the year for graduate students. The intent of these programs, is two-fold. First, to engage Latino graduate students in environments where they will develop and hone their technical knowledge and competency to become the next generation of globally-competitive engineers. Second, to help develop those non-cognitive, soft-skills critical to work-life balance, negotiating the thesis/dissertation process, developing social networks, articulating ideas and authorship, mentoring and self-mentorship, and leadership as a graduate student.
In addition to providing scholarships under the AHETEMS Scholarship Program, AHETEMS provides the following program initiatives and supports several partnerships especially for Latino/a graduate students.
AHETEMS Dissertation Scholarship - Provides a competitive scholarship to qualified doctoral candidates (i.e. students who have passed their prelims, orals, and written exams) to complete their dissertation.
AHETEMS Internship Program - Provides opportunites for SHPE graduate students to various federal internships. Opportunities are added periodically.
AHETEMS Scholar-Internship Program - Provides opportunites for SHPE graduate students to obtain a summer internship that includes an academic scholarship. Opportunities are added periodically.
